Village of Farwell

The Village of Farwell will hold a public meeting on the proposed Water System Improvements Project for the purpose of receiving comments from interested persons.

The meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 4th, 2026, at Farwell’s Farmer’s Market during the Council Meeting.

The purpose of the proposed project is improvements to the Village’s water system.

Project construction will include replacement of approximately 110 lead or galvanized service lines in compliance with EGLE’s Lead and Copper Rule.

Impacts of the proposed project include minor traffic operation, increased local noise and dusts levels typically of a construction project. There are no anticipated long-term impacts from this project.

The estimated project costs will be discussed at the public meeting. User rates will be adjusted to service the debt and operate and maintain the proposed improvements over time.  The estimated cost increase to users for the proposed project will be discussed at the public meeting and the final costs will be dependent on the terms of the financing proposed by EGLE through the DWSRF FY27 program for this project.
